What is the school dress code?
The standards for Germantown Municipal Schools dress reflect “common sense” and a concern for each child’s comfort, safety, cleanliness, and sense of modesty. Apparel or appearance that tends to draw attention to an individual rather than to a learning situation must be avoided. For a fuller, more in-depth description of the dress code, click here.
Can I eat lunch with my child?
Parents are welcome to visit and enjoy lunch with their child after the first two weeks of school have passed. Parents or guests eating with a student will be directed to sit at our guests’ table.
Can I bring birthday treats for my child’s birthday?
Parents may bring or send store-bought birthday treats for students to share with their classmates. Birthday treats should be sent to the front office or, if a parent is joining their child for lunch on their birthday, they may leave the treats with the teacher to be shared in the classroom. Ingredients must be listed on the packaging to protect our students with life-threatening allergies. Treats should only be given to classmates of your child. Please do not send items that have to be cut into servings.
What is an FES Spirit Day?
FES Spirit Days are scheduled on EVERY Friday. On Spirit Days, students may wear any FES spirit shirt or green and yellow shirt to show our school spirit.
What is the procedure for dropping off and picking up my child each day?
Visit our "Arrival and Dismissal" page to view the details for car riders, walkers and bus riders. You will also find a map to help get a visual of how things work at Farmington!
What if someone else is picking up my child?
If your child is going home in a different way than usual, parents must send written permission to the child’s teacher (no emails, please). For the safety of the student, phone calls requesting a different dismissal for the child will not be accepted.
What should my child do if he/she has lost an item?
Lost & found items are kept in an area near the ramp leading to the back hallway of the school (the hallway is located directly behind the courtyard at the center of the school). Toys, radios, electronic devices, or other valuable items should not be sent to school.
How can I find out what’s going on at Farmington?
Every week, the PTO sends news & updates to our Farmington families via a newsletter called the “Falcon Flash.” Emails are sent based to parent email addresses that were provided during registration. You can view updates, photos, and event details on the Farmington PTO Facebook or Instagram page. Also, make sure to visit (and bookmark) www.farmingtonpto.org to access up-to-date info and links to other websites.
