MORNING ARRIVAL
School hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students going to breakfast may enter the building at 8:10 a.m. All others may enter at 8:15 a.m. Students can be dropped off in the car line in front of the school or can walk up from the adjacent parking lot. When using the car line, adults should remain inside the car and stay off cell phones. If walking from the parking lot, please use the sidewalks and crosswalks to walk safely to the school entrance. For the safety of your child and others, PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF AT THE CURB ON CORDES ROAD.
AFTERNOON DISMISSAL
A note must be sent to the teacher about changes in your child’s dismissal plans. If a note is not received, your child will go home according to the normal plan. Phone calls are not accepted as a method of changing your child’s dismissal. Please plan accordingly!
BIKE RIDERS & WALKERS are dismissed first at 3:30 p.m. Bikes must be walked leaving the campus and helmets must be worn. Bikes are to be stored in the bike racks during the school day. No skateboards, skates (including wheelies), or hoverboards are allowed at school. All students are reminded to practice bicycle and pedestrian safety by remaining on sidewalks and crossing the street with our crossing guards. Students who walk with other students off-campus to go home or to get into cars parked off-campus are considered walkers.
CAR RIDERS will leave classrooms to go to the front hallway. Cars displaying a car-rider number, issued by FES for afternoon pick-up, should be lined up in the car lane in front of the school. The number is to be displayed in the front windshield of the car. Students MAY NOT be picked up in the car-rider line without a number. These numbers are available during school registration or in the school office. The car lane will begin moving as soon as walkers & bike riders are off-campus. Car riders will be supervised by teachers in the front hallway then dismissed to their cars when their numbers are called. Drivers should remain in their cars and all students should get into cars from the passenger side. There will be one lane of traffic coming in with all cars remaining in line at all times. Please - no passing of stopped vehicles. For safety reasons, drivers are asked to put cars in PARK while stopped or waiting in the car line. Cell phones should not be used while in the car line.
BUS RIDERS will leave classrooms to go to the cafeteria and buses will be called to load while under adult supervision.
DAY CARE AND REACH AFTER-CARE STUDENTS will leave their classrooms to go to the gym. Daycare vans will be loaded outside the 1st grade hallway (first outside door) on the north (playground) side of the building after 3:00 p.m. as the vans arrive.
